Beta Test Terms

If you wish to participate in any of our beta tests, you agree to the following terms in addition to our main terms of service. If you have any questions about these terms, please ask in the Discord.

License

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software to evaluate and use the software non-commercially on their own device. You are not permitted to reverse engineer, modify, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software or source code.

This software may not be fully functional and may cease to work at any time due to the nature of the development process.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, OR THEIR ASSOCIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Privacy

The beta software includes more verbose logging, which is necessary for our developers to gather information to improve the performance of the software across different hardware, software and usage profiles. This means that we may collect and temporarily store some personal information that we would normally not collect on the production version of the software. This may be intentional, or it may be accidental, as is the nature of beta software. This is why we have a specific privacy policy for our beta software.

Representation

You are welcome to tell others that you are a participant in the beta program, but please do not share outside the group any information related to specific bugs or vulnerabilities, features in development or internal conversations to which you may have had access. Please do not represent yourself as an employee, team member, contractor, associate, consultant or otherwise imply that you have any other affiliation with Seraph Secure other than that of a beta program participant. In particular, please do not speak on behalf of the company or project in any matter.

Content creation

Please do not show the beta version of Seraph Secure or any related apps, dashboards or support services as part of a stream, YouTube video or any other form of content. You are of course welcome to stream the public, stable version of Seraph Secure however and whenever you would like.
